Another home run for Lauren. The Thorny Rose series is terrific and can't wait for more. We learn more about Jessica Faraday, Murphy Thornton's wife. A great pairing as they are still getting to know each other in their young marriage.Jessica has nightmares that scare her so much she ends up attacking Murphy....as these get worse, the both decide they must get to the bottom of this deep seated problem. It seems that Jessica witnessed the murder of one of her girl friends at a very young age, but can't remember any of it.
With her father's help, Mac Faraday and her devoted husband, Murphy they and all Jessica's family and friends join to help her in the long submerged event in her life. As always, there are bodies, secrets and total confusion. A great read, I didn't want to put it down.
Highly recommended.

I have enjoyed the series from Lauren Carr and how she connects the different books together. Although I do not like this new character Dallas. She is over exaggerated and annoying. The last two Mac Faraday books featured her prominently and now again in the Thorney Rose Mysteries. If I could have left her out of the story, it would have been better. However, I have to add that Jessica is becoming a more rounded character and I am enjoying the romance of Thorney Rose better now.
A terrific story about a young couple who investigates a cold case which jeopardizes their lives. After traveling back to the town where the crime occurred the couple is informed to leave before bad things happen. The story is very well written and has an excellent plot. The characters are interesting and very easy to like.This author writes excellent books and this is no exception.
Lauren Carr is an excellent author. I love her books. I don't generally read this type of book, but I picked one that a friend recommended and from there I just kept reading them. That says a lot of me, because usually a new author leaves me flat. This one is about ..no, I won't spoil it, I will just say Murphy and Jessica are the main characters in this one and you won't be disappointed.
Lauren Carr never ceases to amaze me. I am truly addicted to her books. This latest installment just ass to the list of murder mysteries with panache. I again couldn't put it down until I read it entirely. I consider her writings light mysteries because of the humor she injects into them along with some good sleuthing. This time there was quite a mixture of characters all fused together to keep you guessing.
There were some twists and turns in the book a little humorous to me. It kept my interest and me wanting to know what was going to happen next.
Dallas is a hoot. The relationship between Jessica and Murphy is very loving they work good as a team. I am looking forward to more of the Thorny Rose Mysteries. I enjoy the whole clan. Lauren Carr has done it again. I will admit my love for the Mac Faraday books are on the top of the list.
Lauren Carr has become a master at spinning yarns that are simply not easy to predict. In order to stop the nightmares Jessica Faraday suffers from a childhood sleepover where an entire family was brutally murdered practically before her eyes, she and husband Murphy Thornton embark upon an investigation to solve the fifteen year old murder and stop the bad dreams. Working with investigative journalist Dallas Walker, they find this investigation full of danger as they both become targets of the original killers, people with enough influence to have protected them for years. Very, very difficult to pt down.
I'm sorry but I wax poetic about any book written by Lauren Carr. I have them all and I've read them. There is not one book written by this author that I don't like! I love her characters. I love their problem solving skills. I love the way they love each other. I love the way they all participate in solving a crime! There is always a bit of humor thrown into a heavy plot. I became entwined in these character's lives. I talk to them and find myself having to say "It's a book Babs, these people are not real.
The book I really want to read is a new Mac Faraday novel. So much to respect! Such a strong leader. Good sense of humor.
Ms. Carr had a snippet of Mac in this book, but that's all. So time for another book on him. Yes?!?
This is such a fine example of good reading that I heartily recommend all the books to you good readers. I sure love them.
